 Senior Citizens Dinner

Every year in November the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3224, host what has become a very important event in the lives of many Senior Citizens in the metro area. The Annual Senior Citizen Thankgiving Meal, The Eagles along with many other organzations in the Denver area provide a free meal the Saturday before Thankgiving.  approximedtly 3000 meals are served either in house or delivered if need be. This year will mark the 38th year of this great event.

The Eagle Riders not only volunteer the day of the event, we have a special task done in partnership with our friends from Mile High Harley Davidsons H.O.G group. The job at hand is peeling almost a 1200 pounds of potatos. The catch is the loser has to clean the kitchen the day after the dinner is held, after a slow start and two years of cleaning the kitchen. The Eagle Riders now have a 3 year winning streak going, last year was 600 pounds of pototos and yams in 28 minutes.

 Child Advocacy Day

On or about May 1st of every year, the Fraternal Order of Eagles host an event called Child Advocacy Day. This event is held at most Aeries in the United States and Canada. Over the last 3 years Aurora Aerie 3224 along with the Eagle Riders have opened our doors to the public in the hopes that people will learn a Little more about this great organization. We invite the local police, fire departments, paramedics, ambulance companies, as well as people who specialize in Internet Safety for kids.

The kids are given every opportunity to explore the inside of the fire trucks, police cars etc. Every child leaves with a set of fingerprints and a DNA kit in the event they are ever needed for identification purposes. Snack and beverages are provided free of charge as are the fingerprint and DNA test.

American Diabetes Assocoation

In 2007 the Eagle Riders were asked to assist the local office of the A.D.A with planning their inaugural Rip's B.A.D ride, this event is a destination run with numerous starting locations around the State. The Eagle Riders donated our facility for a starting location as well as hosting the VIP party for the many corporate sponsors the A.D.A has. In addition we provided our road captains the day of the event as well as planning a safe and scenic route for the 50 bikes that were registered.

This year the American Diabetes Association is donating there time and talents to our 7th Annual B.A.D run. The Eagle Riders are in turn donating money for a child to attend a week long Diabetes Camp. The purpose of the camp is for the kids to have fun and become more educated on diabetes.
